It is February and, like every year, Alicante celebrates its colourfull Carnival filled with people dressed for this fantastic occasion.
The Carnival celebrations will start on Thursday the 28th of February and will last until the 6th of March.
On Friday the 1st of March, at 9:30 p.m. in the evening, in the Plaza del Carmen, the Proclamation will be given which will officially start the Carnival of Alicante 2019.
Do not miss the “Ramblero Saturday” named after the Rambla avenue, where thousands of people gather together to dance and show their original costumes and where everybody is welcomed, being Alicante´s Carnival one of the most highly participated in the Valencian Community.
Throughout the day there will be shows for the whole family, with workshops, storytelling and other activities and around 10 pm at night the music will begin for you to show your best moves in an open minded an easy going environment.
On Sunday the 3rd there are plenty of activities programmed for children and adults at the Explanade, something you definitely shouldn´t miss, specially if you are here with your family.
And last but not least, get your black outfit ready for the “Burial of the Sardine” which takes place on Wednesday the 6th , (yes you didn’t misread it… haven’t you been part of the burial of a sardine before? Well, it is never too late!) where it is to wear black to mourn the sardine and say goodbye to the Carnival until next year.
We are planning to have a blast the next few days, it is only up to you if you want to join us!
Looking forward to seeing you around!
