Hello everybody!

I told you in my previous post about day trips in Alicante that I would be updating content on this subject. There is a lot to visit in our province, either with friends, alone or with your family.

Today I want to tell you what we did last Saturday, in case you are looking for a quiet plan to spend the day, without getting too far from your accommodation in Alicante.

First thing, we visited the Castle of Biar, one of the great attractions of the municipality. It is classified as an Asset of Cultural Interest and declared a historical-artistic Monument belonging to the National Artistic Treasury, so worth paying it a visit. It opens from Wednesday to Sunday and the entrance costs only 1 Euro. Keep in mind that it closes at midday (well, what we consider midday), you have to visit it before 13.45 or after 16:15.

The views are breathtaking!

When our little companions finished playing queens and princesses and said goodbye to a kitten who accompanied us throughout the visit to the castle, we walked down to the town to take a walk and eat something typical of the area. As we had not booked in advance, we could not eat their typical gazpacho manchego, next time!

Now you know, if you want to eat a delicious gazpacho, book it in advance! It is a traditional dish that requires a lot of preparation. We went to a restaurant called La Corona and we liked it a lot.

The town is beautiful and has a lot of charm.

Look at those facades.

The next stop was the Casa Tápena Natural Space in Onil, with its famous Labyrinth. Click on the link to learn more. It is ideal to spend the day, there you can barbecue, eat your food on one of the tables and benches provided and use the public toilets and other facilities. It has a small bar, as well as parks and enough space for the little ones to burn off energy.

We had so much fun in the Labyrinth, so much that we had to go through it four times. Get ready to get lost in its 7,056 m2, (it is one of the largest in Spain) and see who comes first to the central pine … and can go back to the main entrance afterwards. I had to follow a gentleman who know his way better than I did.

This photo was made before I got lost …

Our plan was to visit the Doll´s Museum in Onil as well, I leave you the link in case you want to take a look. It looks good but we did not have time.

So far today’s post, if you have not read it yet, I recommend you our post on family hikes in Alicante, ideal also to spend a day outdoors.

Let us know if you go on any of the day trips we proposed and, if you want, share your pictures with us at @myflatsalicante. We love to see how much fun you are having while in Alicante.

Big hug from the My Flats team.
